Diaghilev and Great Britain: Roja Dove’s grand statements

September 2026 · Join CT Journal

The two most theatrical Roja Parfums compositions, what they cost and why collectors trade them like securities.

Diaghilev and Great Britain: Roja Dove’s grand statements

The Roja method

Roja Dove builds perfumes like jewellery: rare naturals layered over high-grade synthetics, with prices to match the materials. His grand compositions — Diaghilev, Great Britain — are the fullest expression of that method.

Diaghilev

Named for the Ballets Russes impresario, Diaghilev is a dense chypre-oriental: bergamot and pineapple over rose, jasmine and a deep base of oakmoss, sandalwood and vanilla. It is a perfume about performance — theatrical, generous, unashamed.

Great Britain

Great Britain is the house’s love letter to Britain: crisp citrus and lavender over a heart of rose and jasmine, drying down to tobacco, leather and oakmoss. If Diaghilev is the ballet, Great Britain is the country house.

Collecting them

Both hold their value remarkably well in the secondary market, particularly in sealed condition with batch codes intact. Buy sealed, store dark, and keep the box — presentation is part of the asset.
