Xerjoff Naxos: honeyed tobacco and why it became the house’s signature

What Xerjoff Naxos smells like, where its Sicilian citrus and English tobacco come from, and how to choose between the bottle and the gift set.

Xerjoff Naxos: honeyed tobacco and why it became the house’s signature

The scent, in plain terms

Naxos opens with bergamot and lavender before a generous heart of honey and cinnamon settles over dried tobacco leaf. The base is vanilla, tonka bean and amber woods. It reads sweet, but never sticky: the tobacco keeps it dry and the citrus keeps it bright. Most wearers get six to eight comfortable hours.

Why the name matters

Naxos belongs to the 1861 collection — the house’s tribute to the year of Italian unification — and its name points to Sicily: the ancient Greek colony of Naxos on the island’s east coast. The idea is a Mediterranean journey told with British materials: tobacco, honey, lavender. That crossing of moods is exactly why it works as both a daytime and an evening scent.

Bottle or gift set

The 100 ml flacon is the classic choice. The Naxos gift set pairs the same juice with a heavy presentation box and accompanying format, and suits gifting occasions where the unboxing matters as much as the scent. Both carry the same eau de parfum concentration.

Who it suits

Wearers who find fresh scents forgettable and leather scents too stern usually land on Naxos. It is unisex in practice, though its honey-tobacco heart leans warm and enveloping rather than fresh.

Compare before you commit

If you like Naxos, try Erba Pura for something fruitier, or Alexandria II for a deeper amber-woody register. All three sit in the same house and share its polished, sweet-leaning signature.
