Xerjoff Alexandria II: sweet resins, oud and the art of restraint
September 2026 · Join CT Journal
What makes Alexandria II the most collected amber in the Xerjoff line, and how it differs from Alexandria I and III.

The scent, in plain terms
Alexandria II is a warm amber-woody composition: apple and cinnamon over rose, jasmine and a resinous base of oud, vanilla and benzoin. It is sweet, but architectural — the resins give it structure rather than syrup.
The Alexandria trilogy
The original Alexandria is the lightest of the three; Alexandria III leans even more resinous and is famously exclusive. Alexandria II sits between them — rich enough for collectors, civilised enough for a dinner party.

How it wears
Longevity is generous; the dry-down is where it earns its price, settling into a vanilla-amber glow that lasts through the evening. In cold weather it is enveloping; in warm weather it can bloom larger than expected.
Pair it with the house
If Alexandria II appeals, Xerjoff’s Richwood offers a drier woody alternative, while Naxos serves the same richness with tobacco instead of oud.
