Collecting
The Amouage Library Collection: reading Opus I through XIV
September 2026 · Join CT Journal
Amouage’s experimental line in plain terms — which Opus numbers matter, and how to choose an entry point.

A library, not a collection
The Library Collection is where Amouage lets its perfumers experiment: higher concentrations, stranger materials, no brief but curiosity. The flacons are numbered like chapters — and like chapters, some are more essential than others.
The landmarks
Opus V (Woods Symphony) is the oud-and-plum landmark; Opus VII (Reckless Leather) the smoky leather classic; Opus XII (Rose Incense) the modern rose; Opus XIV (Royal Tobacco) the luxurious tobacco of the moment; Opus XV (King Blue) the aquatic experiment.

The special editions
Several Opuses have been extended in higher-concentration editions — Opus XIII Silver Oud among them — often in taller flacons and smaller runs. These appreciate quickly and rarely stay on shelves.
Choosing an entry point
Pick the material you love, not the number: tobacco buyers start at XIV, leather at VII, oud at V. The library rewards readers who sample before committing.
